  "Morvern",
The first half of Mark's essay "William Carlos Williams in America," appeared on February 25 in the American Poetry Review. A theme, other than environment, considering the current threat to blow up Robert Smithson's "Spiral Jetty?": that theme would be Williams' deep link to Shakespeare; a breakdown of why they can't "hear" Carlos on the British eyes (stellar exceptions of course); and the polarization of his admirers from each other, except, when they read together at St Marks in the Bowery not long before Lowell died he commented "...in a way Alan and I come out of different aspects of Williams..."
